Cyprus Airways has obtained the Air Operator Certificate from the Cypriot Department of Civil Aviation, demonstrating the compliance of its processes with requirements of European aviation authorities.

The carrier operated a proving flight on March 04 from Larnaka International Airport to Heraklion International Airport with Airbus A319, as part of the procedure to get the certificate.

Natalia Popova, chief commercial officer, Cyprus Airways, explained that the certificate represents an essential step forward before getting the license for commercial flights and finalising the preparations for commencement of scheduled services.
