Q1 Revenue Rise for AEGEAN Airlines

In the first quarter (Q1) of this year, AEGEAN Airlines achieved consolidated revenue of EUR151.9 million, three percent higher than the corresponding period in 2016.

Furthermore, during the period under review, passenger traffic rose five percent year-on-year, to 2.1 million travellers, despite operating seven percent less flights.

Traffic on the carrier’s international network jumped 17 percent, yet domestic traffic fell six percent.

Seasonally the weakest quarter of the year, the airline’s fleet underutilisation in the winter months, along with the timing of Easter are thought to have contributed to the total net loss of EUR35.8 million after tax.
