On the occasion of celebrating Pafos International Airport’s 20 years of operations, Nikos Shacolas, honourary-lifetime chairman, Hermes Airports, Panayiotis Hadjipantelis, chairman, board of directors, Hermes Airports, and Eleni Kaloyirou, CEO, Hermes Airports, gave a tour of the hub to local mayors, members of parliament and various representatives of the region’s institutions. 

During Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) International Investment Awards 2017, Bouygues Bâtiment International, the main shareholder of Hermes Airports, was awarded for its significant contribution to the Cypriot economy.

Hermes Airports has been recently accredited with three leading international awards in the fields of occupational health and safety and the environment, confirming the company’s leading position in the aviation scene. 

According to Airports Council International Europe’s Airport Traffic Report, in the first quarter (Q1), Larnaka International Airport was ranked third in terms of passenger growth in the category of European hubs that welcome between five and 10 million passengers annually.

Larnaka International Airport has recently received additional automatic-electronic gates, bringing the total in operation to seven.

Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVE)  recently sent a proposal to Ionas Nicolaou, minister, justice and public order, Cyprus, asking for immediate preventative measures to avoid overcrowding and reduce congestion at Pafos International Airport for the upcoming summer season.
