Tourism from India to Cyprus Discussed During Stakeholder’s Visit to Paphos

Indicating a strengthening of tourism ties between the two countries, Sandeep Marwah, managing director, National Federation of Tourism and Transport Cooperatives of India, and chairman of India’s International Chamber of Media & Entertainment Industry, recently visited Paphos.

Having been shown around some of the town’s most popular sites on the invitation of Cyprus’ Ministry of Tourism, Marwah commented, “It is a wonderful opportunity to know Cyprus in and out.

The city of Paphos is a beautiful town with lots of family values. Visits to Paphos Mosaics and Medieval Fort, five star hotels like Elysium, and a sea cruise lunch add to the experience,” he continued, speaking to reporters outside Aliathon Holiday Village.

Marwah added that a visit to Cyprus would, within the coming weeks, be recommended to students of the Delhi, India-based Asian Institute of Hospitality and Tourism.

AIHT offers full-time undergraduate programmes for hotel management and travel and tourism management courses, as well as one-year diplomas for hospitality, and another for travel and tourism, all including on-the-job-training.

Demetrios Theophylactou, Cyprus high commissioner to India, accompanied Marwah on his visit to Paphos.
