Following a deal between Polis of Chrysochus Municipality and Cyprus Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, it has been decided that the area stretching from Latchi all the way to Anassa will become an artificial reef.

Pafos Regional Board of Tourism and local hoteliers expressed their satisfaction towards the decision.

Nikos Kougialis, agriculture, rural development and environment minister, Cyprus, welcomed the initiative and stated that the new project will further boost marine biodiversity and life, while also providing a welcome attraction for tourists and visitors interested in deep sea diving.

Kougialis added that alternative solutions and measures will be offered to fishermen in the area where the reef will be constructed.
