Hermes Airports announced the acquisition of the Level 2 certification for the reduction of its emissions, a year after the acquisition of the International Council of Airports (ACI) Airport Carbon Accreditation Level 1, Mapping.

For the fourth consecutive year, Hermes Airports participated in a clean-up event in Pervolia which was organised by Vantage Airport Group, in collaboration with several non-profit organisations including the environmental group Greenovation of the Pervolia Community Council.

Aiming to increase levels of safety and security at both Cyprus’ hubs, Hermes Airports has recently announced that the European Union’s (EU) Regulation 2017/458 which provides a new procedure for the cross-checking of European citizens is now active.

Aiming to promote the country’s aviation industry along with discussing possible partnerships and trends in the sector, Cyprus Tourism Organization (CTO) and Hermes Airports participated in this year’s Routes World 2017 conference which took place in Barcelona on September 23 —25.

In order to commemorate World Tourism Day, which is celebrated every year on September 27, Hermes Airport displayed educational spots on the screens of Larnaka International Airport and Pafos International Airport, while also distributing World Tourism Organization’s advisory brochures.

Aiming to continuously enhance its services, Hermes Airports has recently installed four automatic electronic entry gates (e-gates) at Pafos International Airport.

Cyprus’ Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and Hermes Airports have recently announced the signing of a commercial agreement which aims to regulate the incentive scheme offered to airlines.

On the occasion of celebrating Pafos International Airport’s 20 years of operations, Nikos Shacolas, honourary-lifetime chairman, Hermes Airports, Panayiotis Hadjipantelis, chairman, board of directors, Hermes Airports, and Eleni Kaloyirou, CEO, Hermes Airports, gave a tour of the hub to local mayors, members of parliament and various representatives of the region’s institutions. 

As part of its corporate social responsibility programme and with the aim to promote sustainability, Hermes Airports sponsored Let’s Do It! Cyprus, a national cleaning campaign, organised by Together Cyprus volunteers’ network. 

During Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) International Investment Awards 2017, Bouygues Bâtiment International, the main shareholder of Hermes Airports, was awarded for its significant contribution to the Cypriot economy.
