Cyprus Promotes Maritime Sector

Taking place on November 03, The Nautical Institute Command Seminar was organised by The Nautical Institute-Cyprus Branch under the theme Navigation Accidents and their Causes.

Since its establishment in 1993, The Nautical Institute-Cyprus Branch managed to provide the strongest possible professional focus to its members and to improve the standards of those involved in control of seagoing craft.

Commenting on the occasion, Marios Demetriades, minister, transport, communications and works, Cyprus, emphasised, “The maintenance of a high quality fleet, the effective implementation of the internationally applicable standards for the safety of life at sea, the security of ships and port facilities, […] are the foundations on which Cyprus builds its reputation as a serious maritime flag and as a base for international operations. “
