In a recent announcement, organisers suggested non-Greek speaking participants enrich their experience by learning a few phrases, including some linked to running such as Treho ton marathonio / miso marathonio (I am running the marathon / half marathon).
Andreas Spyrou, race director, OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, commented, “People always remark on the friendly welcome they receive when visiting Limassol, and knowing a few words in the local language will enhance their experience even more.”
Some 15,000 runners from around the world are expected to travel to Limassol for the weekend celebration of sport that will feature; OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, Limassol Half Marathon, Petrolina 10 km Energy Race, five km City Race, PrimeTel five km Corporate Race and Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation Youth Race.
